Lodge Ceremonies Committee Meeting
Chapter: Lodge - All Chapters District: Council - All Districts Location: Camp Minsi Sub-Location: Dining Hall Website: www.witauchsoman.org/committees/ceremonies We are having a Lodge Ceremony teams practice day at Camp Minsi on Saturday, August 16. We will meet at the Dining Hall at 8 am, and we will conclude at 4 pm. If you notify me that you will be coming, lunch will be provided.
I know Pete wanted to cover the following during the weekend;
1) Discuss all the roles...a helper (firebuilder for instance), a torchbearer, one of the 4 principal figures
in the ceremonies, and allow new people to try different roles to see what they are comfortable
with. Also, to allow experienced ceremonialists to try new roles. Assure each Chapter has a
full team.
2) Go over the current regalia. See what we have, let people try it on, see what repairs need to be made, or
what new regalia is required. The regalia is an important part of a great ceremony, and as a
ceremonialist, we get to learn how to make our own costumes, along with gathering all the necessary
ingredients that make up a great ceremony.
3) Prepare the pre-ordeal, the Ordeal and the Brotherhood ceremony areas for the Fall weekend which
occurs on the weekend of September 5-7. This will consist of cleaning the selected areas, gathering
firewood, and generally making the area ready. This will help because it will allow more time to
practice for the ceremonies when the Fall Weekend is here, AND produce great ceremonies.
4) Discuss the competitive Pre-Ordeal team Witauchsoman Lodge will submit to the National Order of
the Arrow Conference (NOAC) in 2009 at the University of Indiana. This is a very competitive event
sporting the best of the best, and we..and YOU belong in that arena. We will not only get a chance
to compete, but we will learn a lot, and that will only make our local ceremonies better.
We are planning on having a good time and getting everyone involved that attends. Here's what you
need to bring:
Gloves
water bottle
any regalia you have
scripts you have
a great attitude
We will bring extra scripts, regalia, and lunch.

want to be sure we have lunch available for you, and I need to hear from you to get the food ready.
